Bridging the Gap: From Proven Energy Innovation to Commercial Scale

29–30 September 2026 | IET Savoy Place, London

Why do so many promising energy technologies struggle to reach commercial scale?

Across the energy transition, a technology can perform successfully in a pilot or demonstration and still face barriers around financing, insurance, first customers, regulatory confidence, technical validation and access to new markets.

Bridging the Gap: Energy Innovation Deployed, taking place on 29-30 September at IET Savoy Place in London, has been created around that challenge.

With DNV as Official Host Partner, the two-day Summit will bring together technology developers, investors, corporates, insurers, government bodies and commercial partners to address the different conditions needed for successful deployment.

The programme will explore these challenges across the deployment journey, bringing perspectives from technology, finance, risk, policy and industry into the same conversation.

Organisations involved across the wider platform include DNV, HSBC Innovation Banking, Innovate UK, Trafigura and New Energy Risk.

The Summit will also connect to the Energy Technology Deployment Blueprint, developed with input from across the deployment ecosystem to explore how evidence, confidence and partnerships can be built more systematically.

For technology companies, industry, investors and government alike, the focus is practical: what needs to come together to move promising technologies from proof to scale?

On 29-30 September, that conversation comes to London.
